Richard has 35 years’ experience of working in schools. For the past 13 years Richard has been providing school improvement advice across much of the UK school sector to a wide range of schools and organisations. As well as consultancy support, Richard provides ongoing school improvement partner support in several secondary and primary schools, including across multiple schools in several MATs.
Richards’ experience as a practising Ofsted inspector since 2010 ensures that he is fully up to date with inspection practice and developments in education. Richard has significant experience of inspecting primary and secondary schools. He regularly works with schools and MATs to support, validate and challenge their self-evaluation processes.
Richard is an accredited ‘External Expert’, working on contracts commissioned by the UK Department for Education. He is also a specialist adviser to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Education, supporting, advising and scoping significant educational reform in that country.

Richard has worked in schools since 1988. He has significant experience of school leadership having being a Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher for 12 years. Since 2010, Richard has been an Ofsted inspector and school improvement consultant working in special, primary, secondary, all-through and independent schools and also pupil referral units across the UK.
